Analysis of A music video

Analysis of music video

Chris Brown - Say Goodbye

The music video I have chosen to analyse is Chris Brown- Say Goodbye. The moral the video
is aiming to potray is the grass isn't always greener on the other side and sometimes people
take the most precious things for granted in order to experience a quick glimpse of excitement.

In the begining of the music video we see Chris brown talking to his current girlfriend attempting to split up with her, there are lots of close ups of his face to emphasise his expressions and his feelings of guilt and sorrow.

Into the chorus and second verse we Chris watching his new love interest dancing, the expression on his face shows his remorse of the whole situation but also his yearning for her.

During the chorus afer the second verse we see him dancing with the girl he wants and arguing
with his girlfriend who he is trying to break up with. There is a complete contrast in his body language and facial expressions. When with his girlfrend he looks glum and hunched up. but when with the girl he wants he looks happy and full of life and energy.

Finally when he is about to kiss the love interest we see his girlfriend appear and whether she is a figment of his imagination or it is actually her he cant physically kiss the other girl because he is overwrought with guilt and at this point realises it is his girlfriend he really wants. he says "baby I, I just can't do it And sometimes it makes me wanna cry" his face is full of emotion and guilt
